Call for Editors

Positions are being opened on the Editorial Board of the Journal.

Responsibilities: Receiving training, editing and rating academic papers for primarily grammar, clarity and structure, selecting papers for publication, participating in decision-making about the journal, and sustaining it into the future.

Eligibility: Masters students and PhD students in the UNU system

Call for Peer Reviewers

If you would like to review papers in your research area of interest, leave your email ID with us, and we’ll contact you if we receive a paper that would suit you. Peer reviewing involves checking the content of the paper, assessing the arguments, fact-checking etc.

Eligibility: Current graduate students, IC course students, and recent graduates

Deadline: Rolling, preferably by the end of September

How to applyEmail journal.upp@unu.edu stating whether you wish to apply as an editor or a peer reviewer, along with the following details:

  • SURNAME, given name
  • Programme and graduating year
    • Field of expertise/ interest (for peer reviewers)(e.g., HONG, Gildong, UN-IC Global Change & Resilience Course, 2015; Renewable Energy)
      (e.g., HONG, Gildong, MSc Candidate, UNU-IAS, 2015; Disaster Risk Reduction)

Call for Submissions: Special Issue on Climate Change

United Nations University Peace and Progress (UPP) is now accepting paper submissions for a Special Issue on Climate Change. The Journal, UPP, is a student-run peer-reviewed academic graduate student journal. It was founded in 2013 as a way to bring student insights out into the world of academic research. More information on the journal can be found on our website: postgraduate.ias.unu.edu/upp.

Track 1: Original Research from 5000 to 7000 words

Track 2: Commentaries, reviews, monographs, notes from the field or UN resolution analysis from 1000 to 2000 words

Eligibility: Any graduate student or UNU course alumnus (IC courses, UN-CECAR trainings, UNU electives, etc.)

Deadline: 14 October 2015
